hey you, such a nice comment. great to hear from you. it made me happy for days. glad to be your coffee break. what's new in calgary? maybe you should start a blog on moving from hog town to cow town.
No shortage of material for sure. There are several amusing things that I have noticed about the place. Here are three off the top of my head:
1. It is nearly impossible to find skim milk here other than in a grocery store or on request in a beverage at Starbucks. It is never stocked at food courts, restaurants, gas station stores and other places where one might expect to find milk in a single serving/on the go size. It's all about 2% out here with chocolate milk as runner up for frequency.
2. People here say "hey" instead of "eh". Example, "that's a long drive, hey?"
3. The staff at Holts is polite to you even if you are not dressed to the nines. I think they are used to oil money which does not necessarily walk in wearing Manolo, Gucci, Prada and pay with a platinum card from a Louis Vuitton purse.

Hi from the new Calgary Cowgirl. Your musings are such creative and refreshing takes. Great "coffee break" for one who does not drink coffee.
Sometimes I forget that Blackberry also refers to something edible. Maybe it's that once a word turns into a verb, the food identity is lost...
